Building a Brand with Purpose for Lulu Strong

Turning Personal Resilience into a Movement

When a traumatic shark attack changed teenager Lulu’s life in 2024, she chose to turn her experience into purpose. Trade School partnered with the newly formed Lulu Strong Foundation to channel that courage into a brand built to fuel progress. Our challenge: create a distinct brand strategy and identity that could inspire support, spark awareness, and position the foundation as a force for systemic innovation in the world of prosthetics and therapeutic advancement.

Positioning with Purpose

From the outset, we knew Lulu Strong couldn’t be just another amputee foundation. Where others focused narrowly on access, Lulu Strong was set to drive breakthrough advancements — pushing the entire category forward. Through collaborative workshops and strategic positioning exercises, we carved out a differentiated space in the landscape. The result was a purpose-led brand platform grounded in transformation, innovation, and hope — all deeply connected to Lulu’s personal story.

Designing a Future-Facing Identity

 Once the strategic foundation was in place, we brought the brand to life with a full visual and verbal identity. The creative direction centered on youthful optimism and forward momentum, striking a balance between Lulu’s individual ethos and the broader ambition of the foundation. A curated vision board guided our exploration, ensuring alignment at every stage — from logo design and color palette to messaging and tone.

Extending to Digital

 The work didn’t stop with identity. Trade School translated the brand into a responsive, mission-forward web experience. Two distinct homepage concepts applied the new identity with clarity and heart — positioning the foundation to engage donors, inspire partners, and champion progress for generations to come.
